Youngsters to become SafetyStars

SafetyStars

In response to demand from schools for a programme aimed at younger children, we are delighted to announce we are now taking bookings for our new Key Stage 1 SafetyStars session.

Specially designed in collaboration with Year 1 and 2 teachers, the four-hour visit covers five important topics in a fun and non-threatening way. Children complete 20-minute games about fire safety, accidents at home, road and rail safety, healthy eating and five ways to wellbeing around our realistic indoor village. For each completed game, they earn a star and an interactive quiz at the beginning and end of their visit measures their learning.

Hazel Crampton, Safety Central’s Development Officer, said: “A big thank you goes to colleagues in our partner schools for helping us develop the programme and pupils and teachers from Thelwall Community Infant School who tested it out for us. We and our volunteer rangers have had great fun training up, ready to deliver it to five and six-year olds across Cheshire, Halton and Warrington from September.”
