The importance of keeping yourself, your PIN and your money safe when withdrawing cash is now on the agenda for learners at Safety Central.
Diebold Nixdorf, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of ATMs, has donated a machine that can be used as part of visits focussing on personal safety, with a series of scrolling screens that encourage people to ‘check the ATM for signs of tampering’, ‘always shield your pin’ and ‘check your surroundings before using an ATM’. Appropriately, it is located outside the centre’s mock Tesco store in the ‘Safer Choices’ zone.
Mark Shone, Centre Manager, said: “We are massively grateful to Diebold Nixdorf for supplying and installing our very own simulated ATM, and their partners Bishopsgate who delivered it free of charge. The addition of the machine will not only help us communicate important safety messages to those who might be vulnerable to harm when withdrawing cash while out and about, but also make our centre even richer and more detailed in the experience we offer to visitors.”
